Mindfulness Training and Relaxation Techniques
Studierendenwerk Oberfranken offers all students an introductory online course and an in-person course each semester on Autogenic Training and Progressive Muscle Relaxation. Autogenic Training was developed by Johannes Heinrich Schultz and uses self-suggestion relaxation formulas. Progressive Muscle Relaxation was originally developed by Edmund Jacobson and is based on alternately tensing and relaxing specific muscle groups.
Students also have the opportunity to take part, at a reduced cost, in an eight-week, scientifically evaluated Mindfulness Training course for Stress Prevention and Management (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for depression, offered by Studierendenwerk Oberfranken.
The video provides an introduction to the topic of studying mindfully, while former participants share their experiences from the MBSR course.
The exact course dates and registration information are available on the Studierendenwerk Oberfranken website.
